Netflix - We can please most.

Second idea in this progression of trying to think in the opposite spectrum, Netflix have a selection to satisfy most but not all, I want to focus on those people those theres nothing on people!

Please find some criticism (feedback) with it thank you!

Little Chef - You only go once.

My latest idea is a push of thought to master a way of thinking that makes the greats in advertising.

The opposite spectrum of where everyone is thinking.

Adventuring into unknown territory.

Taking what is perceived as a negative and flipping it over into a positive is only one of many tools, but one commonly used by great examples like the legendary 'Think small.' execution done by DDB for Volkswagen Beetle, where anything German was unattractive at the time due to the events of the war.

My idea plays on the negative of people only visiting Little Chef once, I did two executions to express the idea, your feedback on this post would be much appreciated, give me criticism, find out what is wrong with it!

Hold on, but what if they return?

Well you will be proving me wrong, while increasing sales for the brand Little Chef, win win situation wouldn't you say?

Thanks for reading, and please give me feedback!

The lone survivor of Tony's bombardment.

A while back before my interview with Tony on June 2nd, I set myself a challenge to produce a campaign everyday until my hand in date for my course.

Using the traditional methods of advertising I went straight for 26 days, producing campaigns, constructing a student book, from that I picked the best ideas to present to Tony, including my best One Minute Briefs.

It took all night to sort it out, a student book I thought ready to take the ongoing fire from Tony, a student book with clear benefits to communicate.

Anyhow I took it to the interview, I only had 3 minutes to present, so I picked out the best ones and went for it.

Everything was destroyed, blown to bits and sinking to the depths of the boardroom table.

There was one survivor tho, that got a sight glimmer of positive feedback from the whole sinking wreck of the portfolio, and I feel I want to give it a seat in this blog to note.

There we go, the lone survivor of Tony's bombardment.

It was Mike, Tony's partner in crime who gave it hope, I guess my point of this short entry, there is always a glimmer of gold in a pile of shit.

Chaz & Dan.

Bouncing ideas off other people gives you a new found energy, and yesterday me and a fellow watford classmate and possible future creative partner Chaz, had a field day bouncing ideas off one another until her phone was low on battery.

We felt like this, in the drift.

If you have seen Pacific Rim, you will know what I mean, but if not, go and watch it, its one of my favourite films!!

It made you realise why creative teams are a must in advertising, its that two heads is better then one, its that added muscle, its that tag team in a wrestling match, it made me feel alive that I was not doing wrong but working strong.

On your own you don't get that feeling, your quiet lost to be fair, and I was the day before very stressed and going around in circles.

I have always been frighted about succeeding in a team, I have been seen on not being a team player, due to a massive ego, and sometimes being passive and not passionate on sharing.

I used to be a spoilt kid, I still think I am..

but yesterday gave me hope that I can make a strong team with a fellow creative, and me and Chaz got so overly excited that day we were racing against the clock to try and get a placement as a team at 4creative, experience before Watford.

We matched in ambition on where we wanted to go which I find vitally important as a team on staying together and building, basically it felt like a match in heaven, even if it was the first time I worked in the traditional sense as a creative team in advertising.

However here is the thing, we both come from graphic courses, which technically makes us destined to be Art Directors, making us a mismatch, but you know what I say to that!

Is gay marriage a mismatch?

NO!, its a bound through love, a link, a connection, a commonality between two people to produce great things.

I like the old school of art director and copywriter, but I also like to think of us like that gay marriage in a advertising sense, 21st century style.

We are a art couple!

Anyhow we set up a blog and everything in a matter of hours, we were like lighting, but we didn't get the gig.

And that is alright, its only the beginning, we have much to learn, and that is what Watford is for, to be trained to be the best by the best in the business, and then when I get my first job in advertising I can finally say Tony I did it!

but for now I have been mulling over the feedback that Chaz's channel 4 friend has gave us, trying to improve at every opportunity before Watford has even started.

I am just mentally trying to prepare myself for the course, like Tony said, make the most of it, its not that long of a course, only you can get the best of your time at Watford.

I have even applied for McCann Birmingham through the help of a friend on Facebook, an account manger there who knows the creative department very well.

He even knows Nick from One Minute Briefs, so I am in very good hands, he is going to link my work to the CD to have a look, and has already sent out good word about me.

Its soo true, its who you know in the business, networking!

Anyway to finish this entry off its only fitting to show my first executions with Chaz as a creative team!

Just to note Chaz is a manc, I seem to get on with mancs very well in advertising with Faye, Nick and Adam + Jack, even tho I have a constant vendetta against Manchester for the title of Second City, being a proud brummie, to be honest, I think we should just join forces and take on London

Ok the work!

This may not of been fresh by Chaz's channel 4 guy's perception, but I will cherish this work for being my first in a advertising creative team, it was a very enlightening experience, that made me feel even more that I was right for this career.
